Quentin Duchaufour is a natural scientist by education, a Nature lover and world traveler by nature, and a France-based environmental activist. Fueled by the emergency of the multiple crises and the vital necessity to respect the planetary boundaries, he tries to synergise his scientific background and activism experience to change our relationship with Nature and adopt an ecocentric vision. Notably inspired by indigenous cultures and cosmovisions, he had multiple experiences in cross-cultural environments and has intensively worked for the last years in groups/networks or campaigns coordination on Rights of Nature and various Ecology, Climate Justice or human rights-related issues. Furthermore, fascinated by Antarctica, he embarked on a scientific mission in glaciology in Adelie land, where he witnessed the glacial but fragile beauty of the white continent being threatened by the private interests of states, companies or individuals within the current system. Convinced by the fact that anthropocentric governances are inappropriate to solve the issues, his aim in this group is to help consider Antarctica’s being and beings for their inherent right of existence rather than another land to spoil and exhaust.
