Antarctica Declaration

The draft Antarctica Declaration is now open for public consultation, and we warmly invite people from around the world to engage with it. The Declaration recognises that all Antarctic beings have rights that humanity must respect and protect and intends to establish a basis for global collaborative action to protect Antarctica that will benefit us all.

We encourage you to read the Draft Declaration and the accompanying Declaration Commentary, reflect on their implications, and share your feedback as part of this collaborative process. To make participation as accessible and inclusive as possible, the consultation will take place across multiple locations and in multiple languages, creating opportunities for people from diverse cultures, regions, and backgrounds to contribute their perspectives.

This public consultation period is: 22nd June 2026 – 15th September 2026 (midnight GMT).

Comments and submissions can be sent to: declaration@antarcticrights.org. These comments will be considered for the final Declaration, which will be signed during Antarctica Week celebrations in Cape Town on December 1st.
