Join the Antarctic Rights Alliance and add your voice to this global conversation and use your imagination, your voice, your words and tell us, in your own way, why Antarctica matters to YOU!
How you can take part
1. Send a video message
Record an 8–30 second vertical video on your phone and ensure the sound is clear. Begin with:
“Antarctica and the Southern Ocean need legal rights and protection because…”
Then tell us what Antarctica means to you.
End with: “It’s time Antarctica had rights.”
Some inspiration:
- “If Antarctica melts, it could change the weather and seasons I’m used to.”
- “Antarctica’s glaciers store the freshwater we all depend on.”
- “What happens in Antarctica affects the rivers and lakes near my home.”
The video can be created in your native language.
2. Share a photo
Capture your home, your child, your ocean, your farm — something precious that connects you to this planet. Add a sentence or two, like: “This exists because Antarctica exists. When Antarctica has no rights, we have no future.”
3. Write a story or poem
In 150 words or fewer, imagine Antarctica speaking for the first time at the UN. Or tell us why you love her — and why you believe she deserves protection.
4. Create something new
An animation. A painting. A dance. A song. A GIF. Anything that shows how Antarctica connects to you — wherever you are. Surprise us. Move us. Help others see her differently.
Be part of history
Give Antarctica a voice. Speak up.
